Richard Young was born in Yorkshire, UK in 1961, and currently has his studio and his home in North Devon, UK. Richard artistic talent was recognized at an early age, and he began painting in oils when he was 12. He has developed his own style and technique, often using only a knife to create his paintings. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, and is also a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, the Design and Artists Copyright Society, and the North Devon Arts. Some of his works have received honors in competition, and his works hang in galleries and private collections around the world.
His modern, yet classical/ traditional style is inspired by the realism and romanticism of his favourite post renaissance classical Masters, in particular Bouguereau, and their masterpieces.
